!4 Day Reset

January Thoughts

January Thoughts
I've always had a Love/Hate relationship with January. I Love the opportunity to start fresh, having a clean slate, the ability to make changes and the chance to look at things from a new perspective. Resolutions have always seemed slightly elusive to me, in the past I have often thought that I didn't have the correct constitution to stand as firm as my dreams may have guided me. I often felt  that I don't' have the strength to stay steady in the eye of the storm. The last few years have been incredibly difficult for me as we have worked to navigate many different challenges as an individual (moving from a structured nursing role into more of a caregiving role), as a family (children moving our, going to school, getting married), and the world in general as the Mayberry Lifestyle I so enjoyed and wanted for my family seems to  be slipping so far away. Yes we have spent the last 20 years, the majority of my son's lives in a small, rural Kansas town that could have very well been the inspiration for Mayberry. For six of the last seven months I worked, and planned as I participated in a contest for Young Living, the ultimate goal a basically all expense paid trip to the Dominican Republic. I love to travel, mostly always down for a good old fashioned road trip. Growing up in the Midwest driving has always been a huge fact of life. Technically  the boys and I have driven from coast to coast. I never imagined having the opportunity to actually visit an island nation as my darling husband is not much into flying. In July 2023 that all kind of changed, I'm not even really sure where the drive and desire to go for this trip really came from. Maybe it was the excitement of convention, maybe it was the boost I got from participating in the 14 Day Reset Challenge for the first time, maybe I just had an unconscious desire to push myself to do something new and help other people find a way to live life a little bit healthier. Whatever it was I experienced success that I wasn't really anticipating. For five of the six months I was able to introduce two new people to Young Living and the amazing products that they have. I've earned some Amazing gifts and products, like this awesome Saranoni blanket that I am currently snuggled under while writing this post.  I did well enough with the contest that I am waiting to hear if I did end up with a trip to the Dominican Republic or if I won an insane tech package. Since July of 2023 I have also been participating in the monthly 14 Day Reset. I have come to the realization that NingXIa Red is a product that I need to be using consistently at a volume more that I had previously been ingesting. I've come to realize that at a minimum I need a couple serving sizes a day I am sleeping so much better, have more energy, my mood is better, my stress have decreased, and seen so many little changes here and there along the way. While I don't necessarily believe the old adage new year new you, I am agreeing with something i read that you don't need to be a new you for the new year, you can become a better you in the new year. That is now my goal, to be a better me this year, life is a journey, I can't just expect to jump to the amazing part without having to do some changes along the way. While I am not perfect with the 14 Day Resets I get a little better each time, a little more consistent, establishing new habits in small 14 day blocks supported by an amazing community/family that is Young Living. I am looking forward to all the exciting things to come here in 2024!

Meet Erica Grayson

Welcome to my site! I am so happy you stopped by! Let me share a little bit more about me. I am a wife, mom, grandma, nurse, teacher, student, Jesus follower, creative, frugal kind of gal. I love to spend time with my family and I love to make things stretch! One of my favorite things about Young Living is that their products are so concentrated a little goes a long way!

I started my Young Living Journey over 10 years ago. I used to be a huge candle junkie, always had them burning, and we used lots of air fresheners. At the time we had 3 boys living at home, 2 with year round athletics. Hello Boy Moms, you know what I mean! I have no experience with female athletes, so I can't speak to them, but anyone with active boys you know there is the not so pleasant aroma de teen that seems to follow them.  I started paying more attention to what I was using in the house and while I had been DIYing lots of my own cleaners and laundry detergent, I was still learning about other things I could do to positively impact our health.

Enter  Young Living. At the time all I wanted was the Thieves Household Cleaner. I wasn't happy with what I was using and I was really serious about getting as many chemicals as possible out of our home. The funny thing was, I was limiting my thoughts to swapping out cleaners and really not much else. Thieves Household Cleaner would basically take over the job of most of the cleaning products I was using at the time.  When I became a Young Living Member in order to get the super savings of the Thieves Loyalty Bundle you had to first purchase a Premium Starter Kit and then you could add a Loyalty Bundle to your order.  Now me being as frugal as I am I saw this as a huge perk. The Loyalty program offered a way to budget out my families needs monthly as well as earn some free products of my choice, and I knew I was going to be ordering the cleaner every month so I went for it. Now at the time I really wasn't into the oils, well, I was interested in the Thieves oil, but really nothing else, the diffuser kind of interested me, but at the time I wasn't looking at the whole picture, just replacing the products I was using to clean our home.

My kit arrived and I was super excited about the Thieves Household Cleaner! It was going to work for everything I wanted, then I realized, the Thieves Household Cleaner was way more concentrated than I thought, and lasted a lot longer than I had anticipated. I also started doing more research about ways to naturally support my family's  health and soon realized that we needed to get rid of the air freshers, and candles, and I also started looking into personal care products, I became a label reader and I was shocked and concerned by what I was reading that was on the labels of many products that we had in our home.  Slowly I started getting rid of things, swapping products with Young Living Products. Several things I even got to try for free as they were promo items that came with my monthly Loyalty order. I fell in love with diffusing and all of the different oil combinations I could make, I loved the way they made the house smell.  That first winter, my super active sports loving, not so good at taking care of themselves, burn the candle at both ends boys did not miss any school. Which was amazing as the previous years one if not both of my football boys missed a week or so of school due to not feeling well.

Young Living had changed my life in ways I would have never imagined.  I would love to share more about all the things Young Living can do for you!  Welcome to my Healthy Oily Life!
